10 Full Moon Rituals To Try
Astrology and spirituality are gaining more and more popularity as people realize that something bigger than us controls a lot of what we do and feels as the moon’s phases change. The different star signs come into play with each full moon.
It is because of this that many people have decided to start trying out full moon rituals. Taking the time to try and become one with yourself under a full moon is becoming a common practice that many people have seen the benefits of.
However, full moon rituals can be daunting and overwhelming to those who have never tried them before, so we have compiled a list of a few for beginners to try.
Cleanse Your Space

Each full moon brings with it renewed energy and a new chance to bring that renewed energy into your life. The star sign that the moon is in will determine what energy the moon is bringing in. However, you will not be able to welcome this energy if your mental and physical space are cluttered.
You will need to cleanse both your mental and your physical space so that you can receive the energy that the moon has to offer. You can clean your mental space by doing a brain dump, and you can clean your physical space by getting rid of everything that you no longer need or that no longer serves you.
Fire

Fire is an element that has been used in many traditional and spiritual practices for many years. Making a fire is something that people worldwide do to release old energy and welcome new energy in.
Of course, we cannot all have a huge bonfire every time there is a full moon, but you can bring the fire element into your life in other ways. You can light some candles around your room, or you can light your fireplace in the living room.
Forgive

One of the best ways to ensure that you get all of the new energy that comes with a full moon is to ensure that everything that is weighing you down is lifted off of you. This will help you to release old energies and welcome the new ones in.
An extremely heavy emotion is sadness or resentment towards something or someone, so make sure that you lift this emotion off of you by writing a forgiveness list. You will write down everything that you forgive yourself and others for. You can then burn this list and release the emotions.
Charge Crystals

If you are already somewhat into spirituality and have a couple of crystals lying around your space, the full moon is an excellent time to ensure that they have all of the energy that they need in them.
You do this by charging your crystals. You can simply put your crystals out in the moonlight overnight for them to charge, or you can cleanse them with incense first and then place them under the moonlight to charge.
Dance

Once the full moon comes, you need to release any energy that is not serving you. This means that you need to move your body to move the energies that are no longer serving you out of your spiritual space.
There are many ways to do this, but one of the most effective and most fun ways is to dance. You can do any type of dance that you are comfortable with, but moving your body will help you to release old energies.
Energize

Like the crystals that we have mentioned above, you are made up of the earth, which means that you need your energy to be replenished. You might be thinking that simply getting enough sleep will do, which it will for your physical body, but to feel spiritually energized, you need a little more help.
For this reason, it is a good idea for you to take some time to lay underneath the full moon and allow it to recharge your physical body. Doing this will help you feel well-rested and ready to take on the new energy of the full moon.
Moon Water

One of my favorite full moon rituals is to make full moon water. It is one of the easiest rituals and also one of the most rewarding. It is a ritual you can complete in seconds, but that has a huge impact on your life.
You can make moon water by filling a glass container with water and then setting an intention over the water. You can even write this intention down and place it under the container. You then place the container open in the moonlight and bring it inside before sunrise.
Practice Gratitude

You have probably heard this a thousand times. Still, one of the best ways to receive more than you ever imagined receiving is to be grateful for everything you already have in your life instead of complaining about the things you think you’re lacking.
On a full moon, you should always make a gratitude list to show the universe that you know how blessed you are. You can do this by writing down everything you are grateful for and then reading it back to yourself.
Meditate

Meditation is a daily practice for many people. Many people meditate first thing every morning and ensure that their day starts calmly and serenely. If you’re not one of those people, you should at least meditate on the full moon.
You can find many guided meditations in apps and online that will coach you through the meditation session not to feel as daunting if you are a beginner.
Relax

While all of the rituals mentioned above can seem daunting, you do not have to complete all of them. You can simply choose one or two that you think you would enjoy and complete those because above all you must relax on a full moon.
The energy of a full moon is intense and will likely make you feel exhausted if you do not allow yourself the proper time to rest and recharge while the full moon is out. Take some time for yourself to just do nothing.
