5 Reasons To Get A Rescue Dog

Having a furry little friend to come home to in the evenings is one of the best parts of anybody’s day. Having a pet makes everything seem right in the world, where sometimes you feel as if everything is wrong.

However, many furry little buddies don’t have the luxury of having a human come home to them and give them love and affection. Instead, many are stuck in shelters or unsafe spaces where their lives are miserable.

For this reason, it is important to consider adopting a pet instead of buying one. Here are some reasons you should consider adopting.

Saving Lives

Many animals that are in shelters are in there for a limited amount of time. This is not because they get adopted quickly, but because there is not much space in the shelters, and the animals get put down before they get the chance to be adopted.

When you adopt an animal, you are saving their lives. They will get the chance to go to a loving home where they will be protected and cared for instead of living in an unsafe place or being put down in a shelter.

Break The Cycle

Every year, millions of kittens and puppies are born. Unfortunately, there are simply not enough homes for all of these animals to go to, and this is why so many of them end up in shelters and later being euthanized.

Adopting an animal from a shelter lends a small hand in breaking the animal overpopulation cycle when you adopt from a shelter. You are giving an animal a chance to go to a loving home where they will be one of only a few pets.

Less Expensive

Many people would love to buy animals from breeders to be sure that they are pedigree animals who might participate in shows or are simply just seen as superior to shelter animals.

However, adopting an animal from a shelter is just as rewarding, and they might even be more loyal to you because you will have rescued them from an otherwise miserable life. It is also much less expensive to adopt an animal than buying one from a breeder.

Second Chances

For many shelter animals, once they have grown out of being a baby and are still in a shelter, they will be put down because they are less likely to be adopted and there is not enough space for them.

By adopting an animal, you will be giving them a second chance in life so that they have the chance to experience the love and friendship that comes with being part of a family.

Lifelong Friend

Adopting a shelter animal is one of the best ways to ensure that you have a lifelong friend. But, unfortunately, shelter animals have likely never been shown the kind of love and affection But, unfortunately when adopted into a loving home.

They will be extremely loyal to you because you will be the one who is the first to show them that humans aren’t always going to hurt them and that they are safe and sound in a loving home.
