A Glimpse At The 2021 MET Gala Hosts
It was recently revealed that the MET Gala would return this year after a long wait due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme was revealed, and every person who follows the Gala each year was highly excited.
Knowing that the fashion event of the year would be coming back was something that even the least fashion-forward person could get excited about because of the sheer grandeur that surrounds the event each year.
Now, we have something even more exciting that has been revealed, and that is the hosts!
The Event

Traditionally we see the MET Gala take place on the first Monday in May; however, as you may have noticed, the first Monday in May this year did not mark any special occasion and was relatively uneventful. This is because the event has been pushed back to September this year because of the pandemic.
The gala will be split into two parts, with the second part taking place in May, 2022.

The dress code is also something that we don’t usually see in many places, let alone the MET Gala. This year’s theme is “America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” and the theme for the second part of the gala next year is “America: An Anthology of Fashion”. The exhibit will be filled with American clothes from the 18th century up until today.
The Hosts
Such a prestigious event would be simply incomplete without hosts, and to host the MET Gala is a highlight in any person’s career. The honor that comes with hosting the met is unlike any other because of the esteem that hosting such a grand event holds in society. It is, therefore, usually an older celeb who hosts the show. However, the date is not the only thing that has changed this year.
The hosts of this year’s MET Gala are four of the youngest American celebs in Hollywood at the moment. It is a stark departure from the usual hosts but a refreshing take on the gala and an excellent way to tie in the theme. The young hosts are a fresh take on a firm favorite.

Having young faces hosting is an excellent way to celebrate American fashion culture as well as the generation that will determine fashion for the next couple of years.
The four co-hosts are Timothee Chamelet, Naomi Osaka, Amanda Gorman, and Billie Eilish. The hosts were chosen because they all exhibit individuality in their careers and are a shining example of American culture and its fashion in today’s age. Eilish is officially the youngest co-host ever to co-host the event.
We cannot wait to see the incredible outfits from this event and see how different designers interpret American culture and fashion in today’s world.
