We all know that the feeling of having freshly washed hair is right up there with having a full face of makeup on after not wearing any for a while. It makes you feel beautiful and fresh.

However, this led to many women washing their hair way too often, which leads to unhealthy hair prone to falling out. We should not be washing our hair too often as we are stripping it of its natural oils.

Here’s how you can wash your hair only once a week and have it look amazing throughout that time.

Wash Your Hair

This entire article is about not washing your hair, but you will have to clean it from time to time. When you wash your hair, make sure to comb it before you start washing. This will distribute any oils in the hair from the scalp down.

Once you have combed your hair, you should wash it with a cleansing shampoo. While shampooing your hair, make sure that you shampoo, rinse, and then shampoo again. The first shampoo will eliminate excess oils, and the second shampoo will cleanse the hair properly.

Make sure that you are only conditioning the ends of your hair. You can place conditioner midway down the length of your hair and then pull it down towards the ends. Make sure that you don’t get conditioner in your roots.

Conditioner can allow the hair to get oily faster if you apply it to your roots. Conditioner also serves no purpose on your scalp as it will not aid in any hair care up there. Its job is to protect the ends of your hair.

You need to know what you will be doing with your hair while it is not being washed. Day one to three will be relatively easy as the hair will be clean. From day four, you need to start stying it slightly differently.

You can add dry shampoo if you need it, but try to leave your hair without any product for as long as you possibly can. This will allow your hair to get used to not having any products on it, and it will learn to stay cleaner for longer.

It’s important to remember that it will take some time before you can wear your hair down for the duration of not washing it. If your hair is used to a lot of product, it will naturally get oily faster, but if you ride it out, you will eventually be able to go about a week without washing your hair.
