They are excellent tools to help you blend your makeup out quickly and flawlessly, and they provide you with the means to apply your makeup into the nooks and crannies of your face properly. However, not many people know how to clean them properly.

Water and Soap

If you’re a simple gal like me, you probably do not have to patience to sit around for ages waiting for your beauty blender to be clean. You want to use it now, but you also want it to be clean even sooner.

Using this method will allow you to clean your beauty sponges in no time at all effectively. All you need to do is wet your sponge, apply any soap or cleanser that you want, and rub the sponge until the soap runs white. You then rinse your sponge and dry it, and your sponge is as good as new.

Soak

If you’re a more patient gal, you’ll be able to use this method for a truly deep clean for your beauty sponges. Using this method does take a bit more time, but it is worth it in the end because your sponge is clean to the core.

To use this method, place your sponge into some warm water and soap. Submerge the beauty sponge in the soapy water for a few minutes before rubbing the sponge with some more soap, and then rinse it. Your sponge will come out squeaky clean.

Makeup Cleaning Pad

You probably have a makeup cleaning pad somewhere in your bathroom cabinet gathering dust because you bought it a year ago and haven’t figured out what to do with it yet. It’s time to whip that bad boy out!

Apply some warm water and soap to a makeup cleaning pad and rub your beauty blender on the cleaning pad. Do this until the soap runs white, and then rinse and dry the sponge. It will be as good as new.

In The Microwave

You may have read this heading and thought that I’d lost my mind, but a tried and true way to clean your beauty sponges is in the microwave. It seems absurd, but don’t knock it till you try it, honey!

Place your beauty blender into a mug half-filled with cleanser and water. Submerge your beauty blender in the soapy water and place it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Take it out and allow it to cool off (this is very important as you will burn if you do not let it cool) and squeeze the beauty sponge. Rinse the beauty sponge and dry it.

In The Washing Machine

Now, all of the above steps are great and will undoubtedly clean your beauty blenders, but they all require some kind of manpower. So, if you’re a lazy gal, this tip might be the perfect way for you to clean your beauty blenders.

All you need to do is pop them into the washing machine along with your other items. This will clean them beautifully without you having to very much at all. Make sure that you dry your sponges properly once they have been in the washing machine.
