Healthy, easy to prepare, refreshing, and a great source of nutrients. Is there anything more summery than that?

Summer is makings its approach, and now it's time to find in the grocery store and farmers market summer fruits and vegetables such as apricots, apple, melon, berries, mango, beets, and so on.

Add an extra nutrient punch to your smoothie, and don't forget to add some nuts, seeds as a source of healthy fats and antioxidants and maybe some protein powder. With no further ado, here are the best summer smoothies you should try.

Beet and Blueberry Smoothie

I don't know what I love the most about this smoothie, the rich and delicious flavor, the color, or the number of antioxidants in it. Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 small red beet
  • 100 g blueberries
  • ½ banana
  • 120 ml almond milk
  • 60 ml apple juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Green Smoothie

It's hard to find a green smoothie that is healthy AND tasty at the same time. The pineapple and mango in this green smoothie recipe are predominant, so it won't feel like you're drinking a veggie soup.

  • 1 cup spinach (fresh)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 cup mango
  • 1 banana (peeled)

Mango Smoothie

All you need for this quick and yummy mango summery smoothie is three ingredients: mango, pineapple, and coconut milk. It's recommended to freeze the mango cubes to give the smoothie a colder and thicker consistency. You can also replace the pineapple with other citric fruit.

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 cups almond milk

Berry Smoothie

It's berry season, folks! So, let's take advantage of that with this healthy, nutritious, and delicious summer smoothie. All you need for this recipe is:

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1 cup of yogurt (or any plant-based yogurt)
  • ¼ cup milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • Ice cubes
  • ½ tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp of honey or agave syrup
