We love to reminisce about our childhoods. We spend time listening to music that we grew up to, watching TV shows that our parents wouldn’t allow us to watch, and hoping that our favorite shows will come back.

In this case, we have been gifted with one of these things. Anyone who loved “The Powerpuff Girls” will be super excited to know that the popular series will be rebooted in a new and exciting way.

Earlier this month, the actual Powerpuff Girls were announced as Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Yana Perrault as Buttercup, and Dove Cameron as Bubbles. This casting had us so excited for the reboot that we didn’t think about much else for a while.

The reboot will focus on the Powerpuff Girls as adult women who want nothing to do with crime-fighting any longer since they lost their childhood to fighting the many criminals that plagued their community. The new series will simply be entitled “Powerpuff”. We first heard that the series might be making a comeback in August, and it has recently begun developing.

Until now, the Powerpuff Girls in the live-action reboot had no Professor Utonium to go along with them. However, it has recently been announced that Professor Utonium will indeed make his appearance in the reboot and will be played by a brilliant actor.

Professor Utonium will be played by Donald Faison. You might recognize him from “Clueless” or “Scrubs.” He will play a debonair, slightly narcissistic father proud of his daughters even though they are not happy that their childhood was spent fighting crime.

We are super excited to see how this live-action reboot and even more excited that we will get to see our favorite triplets as actual humans. Fans have also expressed their excitement about the reboot, as well as Faison on Twitter.

It’s safe to say that this reboot is being eagerly anticipated and will be well received when it is finally released.
