Many women have become accustomed to applying product after product to their faces and having a face full of serum before their heads hit the pillow at night. Women worldwide have bathroom cabinets filled with skincare products.

You don’t need to do much for your skin to be healthy, though. You probably need less than half of the products you’re currently using. Skinimalism is becoming increasingly popular, and we’re here to tell you that you should try it.

We wouldn’t tell you to try something without telling you how, though. Here is how you can achieve skinimalism.

What Is Skinimalism?

Skinimalism is a minimalistic approach to skincare. Minimalistic does not mean that your skincare routine gets left on reading, but it does mean that you scale back the number of products that you use on your skin.

Using this skin care method will allow your skin’s natural texture to come through rather than be modified by the products you are using. You can thank ‘slow beauty’ for skinimalism emergence on the beauty scene.

When you use skinimalism as a skincare method, your skincare products will dwindle from seventeen products a night to only the essentials that your skin craves morning and night.

How Do I Do It?

You have probably been spending a lot of money on skincare products for quite some time now. Some of those products might be making a difference. However, some others might not even contain active ingredients that would make a change to your skin.

Starting a skinimalist routine consists of paring back your skincare products to only the vare necessities. You will need a cleanser to clean away debris and dirt from your skin, a moisturizer to hydrate your skin, and an SPF to protect your skin.

If you have particular problem areas that need extra products, by all means, use them. For example, if your under-eyes are particularly problematic, there is no shame in using an eye cream. If you have sensitive skin, there is no shame in using topical ointments to help it.

However, you do not need to complete a seven-step nighttime routine before you get into bed for your skin to look and feel amazing. Simply completing the basics will save you time, money, and energy.

Your skin will still look just as good, if not better, than if you were using many products at once. Skinimalism truly is the future of skincare, and the sooner you get on board, the sooner your wallet starts smiling.
