Keeping your feet smooth and clean can feel like a lot of work, and it’s like they keep getting rough overnight. But taking care of them is easiest while you’re still in the shower or after you’ve just stepped out of the shower!

The skin on your feet is just as important as the skin on your face. We love having smooth feet, especially if you’re someone that likes to show off their pedicures in cute sandals during the summer!

While you take care of the rest of your body, you need to pay special attention to your feet so you can keep them fresh and smooth all summer long. Here are nine things to do to your feet in and out of the shower!

1. Dry Your Toes!

When you step out of the shower, you need to get your feet dry not just underneath and around but also in between your toes! Between and underneath your toes are an ideal spot for bacteria and fungi to grow.

Bacteria and fungi grow in moist environments, and when you don’t dry your feet properly, you’re creating a perfect environment for the bacteria. And that could lead to smelly feet, so get between your toes with the towel or, better yet, use a blow dryer!

2. Washing Your Feet

Many people think it sufficient enough that your feet get rinsed by the soap from your body. It’s never enough; make an effort to scrub your feet with soap, especially between your toes, so you get rid of the day’s sweat and bacteria!

3. Use A Pumice Stone

After your shower, you can use a pumice stone to scrape off the dead skin and callouses to keep them nice and smooth! It gets rid of the dead skin in your feet because, after all, even your feet need an exfoliation once in a while!

4. Do A Foot Scrub

You can easily make your own foot scrub at home with some salt, lemon juice, and oil, or go to the store and pick up one. Removing the dead skin cells off your feet can leave them feeling smooth to the touch!

5. Treat Them To A Foot Bath

When your feet are aching after a long day at work, you need to treat them to a relaxing foot bath! Throw ½ cup Epsom salts and a few drops of your favorite essential oil in a tub of hot water to relax your foot muscles and even relieve some of the inflammation!

You can also do other foot baths that help keep them soft and moisturized or even detox your feet. Adding an essential oil can be relaxing and calming to you as you soak your feet!

6. Treat Yourself To A Foot Peel

Those weird plastic socks with treatment inside that encourage the dead skin to slough off your feet will leave your feet smooth to the touch! It’s a bit horrifying getting through the peeling process, but afterward, your feet will be so smooth you’ll forget about the peeling!

7. Moisturize Them

Moisturizing your feet is key to keeping them soft. So as soon as you get out of the shower, don’t forget to rub some lotion on your feet after you’re done with your body!

8. Try The Vaseline and Sock Trick

You can lather your feet in Vaseline or another petroleum jelly and then wrap them up in your socks before going to bed. The Vaseline should keep them well moisturized and leave you with smooth feet.

9. Treat Them To A Massage!

Treat your feet to a massage every once in a while. You spend a large part of your day on your feet, so when you’re scrubbing them down or even applying cream to them, make sure you massage them to relieve tension.

Taking care of your feet should be an important part of your daily shower routine and your pamper routine! What are you waiting for? Go pamper your feet!
