Fashion Throwback: A Glimpse At The Saint Laurent Fall Campaign Featuring Blackpink's Rosé
Blackpink members are killing it this year with several brand collaboration announcements under their belts. The girl group’s Rosé was the first member to bag a brand ambassador deal that kicked them off.
Months before Lisa landed her global ambassador deal with MAC cosmetics, Rosé shared the news with YSL. The luxury fashion brand welcomed the KPop superstar to their family of ambassadors in June.
Rosé made her front-row debut at a Yves Saint Laurent show last year, which had fans buzzing. She also started dropping hints of a partnership on Instagram with several photos of her in YSL garments.
The Face Of Fall 2020
Yves Saint Laurent revealed that Blackpink’s Rosé is the new face of their fall 2020 campaign. The announcement that happened this summer was no surprise to Blackpink and fashion fans.
Rosé features a series of black and white images and videos by photographer David Sims. One of her looks in the clips is similar to an outfit that fellow YSL ambassador Lenny Kravitz wore in a campaign.
Rosé’s Global Ambassadorship Honor
Rosé shared her excitement about the news with Elle Korea. The Kpop sensation gushed about the honor of being able to work with such a highly esteemed brand.
“I still can’t believe that I’m a global ambassador, representing a brand that I’ve thought was really cool for a long time,”
Her collaboration with YSL allows her to learn from some of fashion’s best creatives. She expressed her gratitude for being able to experience the work of such bright and kind minds.
“It’s an honor. I also got close to creative director Antony Vaccarello, and I’m learning a lot from his creativity, expertise, and humanity. It’s amazing to be able to work with such a wonderful person.”
A Big Win For Blackpink
Rosé’s high fashion ambassador deal news came just a few days after some huge Blackpink information. The band released their first video off of their LP that was released this September.
Blackpink’s ‘How You Like That’ single is hugely successful. The fashion-forward music video has broken records and raked in over a billion views on Youtube since the summer.
