Milan fashion week exhibited socially distanced shows that genuinely encapsulated the beauty of fashion. We thought it would be years until we got to see striking beauty looks under fashion runway lights again.

Appropriate safety measures afforded us unforgettable runway beauty moments in Milan. Stylists and artists showed out with their show-stopping work, and here are our five favorite moments from the week.

Caught In A New Romance

The Valentino show saw a variety of reimagined romantic looks by star makeup artists, Pat McGrath. Pat paired a selection of glossy and bold red lips with multiple winged liner designs for a beautiful display.

Hairstylist Guido Palau conceptualized stand out hair looks that fit perfectly with the makeup. We were also in awe of the gorgeous icy dye jobs done by Davide, a colorist from Italy’s Blance salon.

Getting Catty

Makeup artist Fara Homidi drew inspiration from classic 1950’s beauty looks for the Ferragamo show. Models wore a classic thick cat eye in a bright red or white shade topped off with a glossy translucent lip.

Homidi’s funky and modern twist to the ‘50s style winged liner presented a fresh take to a distinctive look.

“It brought a new punk feeling to the cat eye, a feeling of rebellion while still feeling fresh and strong,”

Says Fara Homidi

Experimental ‘90s Hair

Guido Palau does it again with an array of experimental ‘90s hairstyles for the Prada Spring show. The ‘boyish’ haircuts presented a DIY quality that Palau adopted to inspire people to experiment more at home.

“With everything going on in the world, people want to be able to do things at home and at the same time are a little less precious about experimentation,”

Mermaid Beauty Dream

The Versace Spring show exhibited an underwater fantasy dream world on the runway. Wet look styled hair and bold, eye-catching makeup topped off the show’s art direction.

Hair Stylist Paul Hanlon achieved the dripping wet hair look with tons of hair gel and strategic styling. Bright red lips stood out against the colorful clothing items with a string brow for optimum chicness.

The Fendi Rolls

Sam McKnight wowed beauty lovers with this personalized take on a classic Hollywood updo. The super hairstylist played on the Fendi ‘baguette’ bag to find inspiration for this low updo roll look.

The Fendi rolls are styled in different shapes and sized to fit every model’s hair texture and length. We love this chic update to a polished, classic look.
