Gently wind down from your day in the best way by turning your space into the ultimate self-care sanctuary for the evening.

We certainly love a trip to the spa. It's a great way to feel pampered and relaxed. Fortunately, these are feelings that are attainable from the comfort of your home.

No matter what kind of day you're having, you could have a great night (and set yourself up for a great next day) by turning your space into a private spa for the evening.

Start by listening to yourself and what your body is craving at that particular moment, and then respond to yourself accordingly. You may put some sing-along songs, some sexy tunes, or something that'll get you in a dancing mood.

Also, get some ambient lighting on. You could opt for some luxuriously scented candles that'll fill your place with a soothing aroma and a soft, warm light.

Warm Your Towels

Warm towels have that pampered spa feel to them. You can very simply achieve the warm spa-like towel by putting your towels in the dryer, just until they feel warm.

Use your freshly warmed towel after stepping out of a good soak in the bathtub or a relaxing shower using your favorite soaps and bathing oils.

Exfoliate

Just the idea of ridding your body of all the dead skin that's sitting idle over your skin sounds like precisely what any home-spa evening needs.

Make sure you do a head to toe scrub either using a gentle exfoliating brush or a scrubbing cleanser. In addition to removing dry and dead skin, it will leave your skin more radiant and soft. Always follow with a moisturizing lotion or cream to ensure that you don't end up with dehydrated skin as exfoliating can be drying.

Journaling

Perhaps not an activity that's traditionally offered in spa's but since this your modified home-spa in the evening, you know what they say "my house. My rules." Journaling is a great way to practice some emotional hygiene, and it's good to check in with yourself on the inside, too, while you're doing all the external work.

While a sauna is not a facility, we may all have access to our homes, an infrared sleeping bag or blanket can mimic the experience.

An infrared sleeping bag or blanket will get you sweating out the toxins in your body while you lie comfortably in it. It can also soothe some common bodily aches.
