Netflix has released the date of the third installment of the popular teen film "The Kissing Booth." Therefore, for fans who had been waiting for the premiere date, the wait is finally over. It's time to step back into the world of Elle.

The Kissing Booth is based on novels of the same name by Beth Reekles. The first live-action adaptation premiered in 2018, and the sequel followed the year later. Therefore, this third installment makes it the first break from the books.

The third film in this teen romance story was shot alongside the second film. However, this teen romance has seen its fair share of avid fans and hate watchers alike. Therefore, it remains to be seen how the film handles its most severe criticisms.

While Reekles did not write a third installment of the book, she did write a novella titled The Kissing Booth: Road Trip!, which might inspire some of the aspects of the third film. The film's director Vince Marcello told Variety that the story would move beyond the romantic storyline.

"[The Kissing Booth 3] is the culmination of this coming of age story—not just for Elle, but for Noah and Lee, as well."

The second film brought up Elle's big college decision, which is still a mystery. Fans might remember that the second film saw Elle trying to make the tough decision between joining her best friend Lee at UC Berkley or her boyfriend, Noah, at Harvard.

Remember Marco from the second film? Well, the actor Taylor Zakhar Perez, who played the character, also lent his predictions of the third film. Perez revealed that his type of ending would see Elle Perez reconnect over summer and confess their feelings.

On the topic of summer, the promotional teasers see the entire cast in the thick of summer, so fans can expect summer shenanigans. Moreover, director Marcello admitted that the trio of Elle Lee and Noah would have their struggles they must overcome as they face the dawn of adulthood.

"It's almost like a codependent relationship between Elle and Lee. I think it would have to be one of those things where they make their own decisions, and they live with it."

In a trailer showing Netflix summer releases, a brief clip of Joey King, who plays Elle, and Courtney watch from a clip of them jumping into an ocean. Courtney admits she got so excited he ate eleven churros, to which King emphasizes eight, eleven, therefore, confirming the August release.
