Life is full of unexpected surprises, and the biggest problem is that we can never predict what happens next. But that’s the beauty of it; we never know what’s coming, so how can we prepare for the unknown?
They say we should always expect the unexpected, but with so many possibilities, you could be worrying yourself sick for something completely unexpected to happen. Unfortunately, that’s just the way it is sometimes.
And spending your days in a constant flurry of worry is certainly no way to live. So how can we embrace the uncertainty of life?
Staying present is the key to snap yourself out of the worry! But it’s not always easy to do because you end up worrying about all the different possibilities.
Take a step back and try to focus on things to keep you present. Focusing on smaller tasks or practicing mindful techniques can distract your brain and keep you present, so you don’t get carried away by your troubles!
Process Your Emotions
Not knowing what’s going to happen can be stressful, and when we’re stressed out, we forget to process our feelings! By staying present, we give ourselves a chance to feel our emotions and process them.
Name your emotion, think about why you’re feeling that way, and what you can do to work through that emotion. All your feelings are valid; you just have to remember to feel them!
Focus On What You Do Know
You’re not Dr. Strange, and you’re going to lose too much of your time worrying about possible outcomes! But you know some things for sure, and you can only control so much!
Do what you can to avoid any outcomes you don’t want. You can always figure out solutions to problems in the future when you eventually encounter them!
Find Your Faith
Sometimes all you need is something to believe in, be it a God, fate, or even science! So find something to keep you hopeful so you can leave your worries up to them!
When all else fails, dive into your self-care routine. If you can’t predict when COVID is going to stop threatening our lives, you can at least predict when your skin will show a difference after using retinol.
You don’t always need to have the answers because that’s just how life works! So you accept that everything is the way it’s meant to be. You can even use the Serenity Prayer to help you accept that you can’t control everything!
Life happens, and while you may have made plans, they’ll need to change so you can adapt to the changes of life! It’s not easy adjusting to life’s uncertainty, but it is doable. You just have to work at it!
