Drew Barrymore's Home Stuns Fans with Its Unexpectedly 'Normal' Look

Drew Barrymore's latest home renovation video is making waves — not for its glamour, but for its simplicity. Fans are applauding the actress for revealing a refreshingly ordinary apartment that stands in stark contrast to Hollywood's usual luxury.

Drew Barrymore has once again drawn attention for her down-to-earth approach to fame. In a new Instagram video, the actress and talk show host gave fans a candid look at her home renovation project. The video surprised many with its ordinary setting, far from what some might expect from a Hollywood star.

Shared less than 24 hours ago, the clip has already attracted close to 30,000 likes. It features Barrymore moving through her apartment, documenting each stage of the renovation.

Wearing a tie-dye T-shirt and pink sweatpants, Barrymore appeared makeup-free with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. She captioned the video, "The many emotions of starting a home project. Why do I do this to myself??"

The footage begins with her mock-crying, overwhelmed by the work ahead. Moments later, she's clapping and smiling as she steps out of a bathroom filled with building supplies.

At one point, Barrymore escapes to a closet for a break. "Everything in this closet has to come out too," she says, pulling out a series of unusual items. The video ends in the living room, where a large pile of clutter signals the next phase of her project.

The video quickly sparked a wave of responses from fans praising Barrymore's authenticity. Many took to the comments section to express admiration for her laid-back style and unfiltered approach.

One admirer wrote, "I love that you're a maximalist and I love how down to earth and low-key your house is and that it's not some atrocious mansion."

Another echoed the sentiment with a simple but powerful reaction, "Wow she has a 'normal' house and now I love her more ❤️." Barrymore's unfiltered appearance also drew attention. "Love this! I love that you post without makeup or being all dolled up. You are naturally beautiful," a fan shared.

Her casual style sparked a comparison to another famously laid-back celebrity duo. "Drew and Adam Sandler are probably only millionaires that just dress how ever they want iam here for it ❤️,[sic]" one person wrote.

One comment summed up the collective admiration: "I love how casual she is. I love that she doesn't feel like she needs to dress up to be on camera. I want to be best friends with her." For many viewers, the renovation video wasn't just about home improvement — it was a reminder that relatability still resonates, even in Hollywood.

Barrymore's recent home renovation video is not the first time she's opened a window into her personal life. Back in February, she shared another candid clip — this time on TikTok.

The video, set in her kitchen, shows her baking a pie. "I'm making a pie, but no from scratch," she says with a smile, before walking viewers through each step while promoting her line of bakeware.

It's part of a broader shift in Barrymore's career and lifestyle. In 2016, she and her husband of four years, art consultant Will Kopelman, divorced. The split marked a turning point. She had paused her acting career to focus on raising their daughters, Olive and Frankie, now 14 and 12.

The divorce took a toll on Barrymore, and she turned to alcohol to cope. Her therapist eventually ended their sessions, warning that he could no longer help unless she stopped drinking. Friends gave her similar ultimatums.

In August 2019, after filming the pilot for "The Drew Barrymore Show," she made a decision. She quit drinking — for good, and on her own terms.

Since then, Barrymore has reinvented herself beyond film. She launched beauty and haircare lines and partnered with Walmart to create kitchenware that reflects her personal style.

Each move reflects a conscious pivot — from celebrity icon to a lifestyle brand rooted in transparency and personal growth.
